We believe that every young person in Young Life Capernaum should be safe, loved, supported & living a full life. We share the hope-filled message of Jesus with them.
Young Life Capernaum exists to introduce young people with additional needs to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. The first Capernaum club in the UK started in Bangor in 2019 before moving to Granshaw Presbyterian Church where we now have a thriving club with around 20 teenagers coming every other week.
Since September we have started to run a Campaigners (discipleship) group for those attending Granshaw Capernaum. In December 2024 we launched our second Capernaum in North Belfast in partnership with Whitehouse Presbyterian. We have also started a parents ministry here where we combine Capernaum with a coffee morning for parents. We started this coffee morning about 6 months before we launched Capernaum so we could build trust and credibility in the local community. Our hope is that we will be able to start a Campaigners group attached to Capernaum in North Belfast in the near future.
In November 2025 we launched our third Capernaum club in Bangor! Our hope is that for every church that is partnered with Young Life, both North and South there would be a Capernaum ministry alongside the traditional Young Life ministry. We are dependant on donations to keep this ministry going as well as to develop it further.
