Night to Shine

About

Night to Shine is a complimentary celebration, hosted by local churches around the world and centered on celebrating and honoring people with disabilities. Our hope is that guests will experience an unforgettable night and leave feeling valued, knowing they are loved and celebrated.

Some cornerstone activities include a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, gifts, a catered dinner, a Sensory Room, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, dancing, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honoured as a King or a Queen - the way God sees them each and every day.

Young Life Capernaum have hosted this for the last 3 years and will do so again on 13th February 2027. This time, to allow for an increased capacity we will be hosting Night to Shine at the La Mon Hotel!

Any donation you make goes directly to helping us make this night the most incredible and unforgettable night that we can for our VIP's and their parents/carers.

YOUNG LIFE CAPERNAUM GIVES YOUNG PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES THE CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE FUN AND ADVENTURE, TO DEVELOP FULFILLING FRIENDSHIPS AND TO CHALLENGE THEIR LIMITS WHILE BUILDING SELF-ESTEEM THROUGH CLUB, CAMP AND OTHER EXCITING ACTIVITIES.


CAPERNAUM IS ABOUT CREATING MINISTRY SPACES WHERE TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES CAN MEET JESUS AND GROW IN THEIR FAITH. ​ THIS OFTEN LOOKS LIKE A CAPERNAUM CLUB SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED WITH OUR FRIENDS IN MIND, BUT IT CAN ALSO LOOK LIKE YOUNG LIFE AREAS WEAVING INTENTIONAL INCLUSION INTO THEIR TRADITIONAL YOUNG LIFE, WYLDLIFE, AND COLLEGE MINISTRIES. ULTIMATELY, THE VISION IS THAT ALL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES WOULD HAVE A SENSE OF BELONGING WITHIN YOUNG LIFE.
