Honouring Stephen Barrington – Our 2026 Charity of the Year

In August 2025, we celebrated Stephen’s retirement after an incredible 45 years of service. He was far more than a colleague – he was a friend, a constant presence, and a deeply valued part of the mhance story.Sadly, Stephen passed away peacefully in November 2025 while hiking New Zealand’s Te Araroa Trail, one of his greatest passions. He spent his final days doing what he loved most – outdoors, exploring, and embracing life to the full. We take comfort in knowing he described his final hike as his “best day yet – 10/10”.

To honour Stephen’s memory and his generous spirit, we are proud to announce Young Life Ireland as our 2026 Charity of the Year, a cause that was close to his heart.

Helping Young People Find Hope & Purpose in the Republic of Ireland

Young Life Ireland is a Christian charity dedicated to supporting young people by building genuine relationships and creating safe, welcoming communities. Through clubs, camps, mentoring, sports, school chaplaincy, and one-to-one engagement, Young Life volunteer leaders and staff meet teenagers where they are, offering friendship, guidance, and opportunities to explore faith, purpose, and life’s bigger questions.

Our work is rooted in friendship, fun and faith. Young Life believes that every young person is deeply valued and loved by God. Young Life has a heart to share the hope and message of Jesus Christ to teenagers in a relational, respectful, and inclusive way.

Whatever their response, teenagers are welcome and cared for by their leaders. Founded in 2015, Young Life Ireland has grown steadily through the commitment of staff, volunteer leaders, and supporters who share a heart for young people and faith-based outreach.
